Capturing CO2 – for the future of farming

Automate your greenhouse climate

Sally R Carbon Capture is the next step in indoor farming

Sally R Carbon Capture provides indoor farms with sustainable CO2-enrichment. We do this by providing you with an easy, low-maintenance product, which will make your operations more sustainable and increase your yield at the same time.

The stand-alone product allows you to capture and utilize CO2 from ambient air or from an HVAC-system in order to enhance the growing process of your plants. Combined with smart algorithms, greenhouse climate control becomes fully automated and will lower the energy consumption of up to 50 %.

Bringing the Food Revolution to Your Building

The CO2  can be captured from the occupants of any commercial or residential building, as an integral part of the buildings ventilation systems. It provides property owners as well as tenants the ability to achieve circular economy if coupled with an indoor garden or a vertical farm.

The whole process can be monitored through the web interface, which puts you in control and will provide you with valuable insights of how the indoor climate and the CO2-enrichment makes your greens fully green.

Maximize yield and save time

In vertical farming, a correct air circulation rate in a closed system is critical to prevent stratification, stagnant air pockets and to ensure that the crop is not subject to excessively hot or cold draughts of air from the air conditioning.

Specific rates of air exchange are necessary to provide optimal growth. Climate uniformity is a vital factor for success.

Sally R’s smart optimization algorithm uses data analytics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning for climate control and optimization of vapor pressure deficit (VPD). Real-time optimization is done by using the input from sensors for temperature, humidity, soil moisture, and root temperature, also based on plant physiology, and photosynthetic active radiation (PAR).

This service is  already implemented in buildings owned by some of the largest real estate companies globally. It’s easily integrated into any BMS and controls the indoor air quality in a safe and sustainable way with energy savings of up to 50 %.

Sally R mission

The idea for Sally R took off in Hallstahammar where the brothers Anders and Fredrik Edström experimented with air treatment and air purification. When they turned their eyes to the International Space Station (ISS), they found concepts for smart air handling.

On the ISS, the air is monitored, treated and reused in a closed cycle in a very energy-efficient way. They wanted to explore if it was possible to combine the optimization and purification technology available at the space station with the existing ventilation technology used on earth, in order to get better air quality for lower energy consumption. And guess what, it was!

Today we provide real estate and all types of properties an easy, scalable cloud solution for securing healthy and safe indoor air quality. Our service is implemented in existing systems remotely, which opens up endless possibilities for optimizing buildings anywhere.

Now we take the next step in making buildings carbon negative. Carbon capture technology creates further opportunities for new solutions regarding sustainability within the built sector.
